Under revision

This page is being revised right now and what you see here is my working draft. That's why it's got this very simple and basic layout. Content should be good though.

Introduction

The latest new part of Musica Viva is not about the music itself, but about the instruments we play it on (and soon other equipment and accessories as well). Want to know where you can buy an
alto ruan or a shawm? Or perhaps simply a ordinary classical guitar?

I have some serious plans for the Musica Viva Buyer's Guide. Not only are new categories and models added all the time, but there'll also be a user feedback function and some serious search functions soon.

A few words about this guide

In addition to instruments avaiable in stores (and directly from builders today), there are also some older instruments only available second hand. Please understand that I can not give any advice where to find used instruments - that's be far too big a project for now.

All the links in the list are "commercial" links, that is sales generated through them leads to a small comission for this site. If you object to this, you can type the URL to the store you want to buy from directly into the address field of your browser.
I will review instruments and equipment from other sources too, but to honour my sponsors' interests I'll only provide links to them (although I may make some rare exceptions to that rule).
For the user this isn't really a big disadvantage, all the music stores that have chosen to sponsor Musica Viva are serious companies and among the best there are today both when it comes to customer service and prices. Also, between them they seem to be able to provide just about any piece of musical equipment you can imagine (and quite a lot you probably couldn't imagine as well ;-)

The prices given can be in different currencies like US dollars (USD), Euro (EUR) or British pounds (GBP). This makes price comparasions difficult of course, but in an international world there simply isn't any really good solution to it.

Finally, please note that prices and specifications might change. I try my best to keep the data here updated, but there are still bound to be some outdated info here.
