About the EncyclopediaThe Musica Viva Encyclopedia has grown over the years from a small collection of randomly collected notes to a rather comprehensive music knowledge resource. It serves both as a knowledge base itself and as a keywords based web directory with lots of links to all kinds of music related sites. This is very much an ongoing project with new entries added and old entries updated and extended all the time. On average there are more than 200 new and as many updated entries every month! The art of not reinventing the wheelSome people my wonder why there are rather long in-depth articles about seemingly unimportant topics while other more important things are only briefly mentioned. One of the resons is that I see no reason to duplicate lots of information already available on the internet so when I find a really good resource site about a topic elsewhere on the web I rather add a link than waste time rewriting the info myself. In my opinion that's what the internet is all about: connecting information resources! Subsections |
