Norwegian name for the accordion. The three words "trekkspill", "akkordion" and "accordion" are all used in Norway. "Trekkspill" generally refers to an instrument with chordal bass while "accordion" is reserved for instruments with melodic bass. The two terms are frequently mixed, though. The trekkspill might have either buttons ("knappetrekkspill" or piano keys ("pianotrekkspill") on the treble side. The Norwegian accordion nearly always has buttons. Back to top
