Version 3 (Nov 26th 1999 - Jul 23rd 2000)
During the summer of '99 Eosnet.com became more and more unpredictable. I just couldn't go on letting them host Musica Viva.Luckily, just as Eosnet collapsed for good, I happened to meet an old friend who worked as a sys-admin at Bedre Reklame, a local advertisement company with their own server and plenty of web space to spare.
On top of that, the musicaviva.com domain name became available.
At last Musica Viva had found a real home :-)
The Bedre Reklame server is a Macintosh. I'm not too happy with that. I mean, I would never even consider anything but a Macintosh for my own use, but servers ought to be Unix IMHO.
Still, a Macintosh server meant WebStar - and in this case even the amazing WebCatalog scripting software. Better for my uses than SOL's CGI-disabled Unix, and of course way beyond Eosnet's Windows NT nightmare!
I didn't start using scripts right away, though. There was no time for that. All I did was to upload the static site at Eosnet to the new server and take it from there.

Time for a little summary? There are now 1152 titles in the Musica Viva database, and 461 sites listed in the free sheet music directory. I have done a coule of other small but important changes as well during the last month - far too many to list them all here.Apr. 16th 2000 and onwards
I'll have to give up this page for a while. I'm updating Musica Viva at least once a day at the moment and it would simply be far too much work to maintain this list. There are lots of new things all the time all over the place.Apr. 15th 2000

All pages redesigned, 26 new titles added, two new sheet music archives added (oboe and trumpet), the music workshop is finally running properly, added a small collection of midis...It would be easier to say what isn't new!

A few new titles in the sheet music archives, a few more sites in the directories, a few more keywords in the encyclopedia - and hopefully a few less typos.One important change is that I have started to link from the sheet music pages to relevant keywords in the encyclopedia. It'll take a while to complete that work, since it has to be done manually, but at least I've started.
