Version 3.5 (Jul 24th 2000 - March 19th 2001)Late spring and early summer 2000 two things happened in my personal life that seriously affected Musica Viva in a positive way. I had ran into a major quarrel with my bosses at my regular job, so I spent as little time there as I possibly could. At about the same time I met a lovely girl in Vancouver through Musica Viva, which of course gave me a tremendous lot of inspiration to work on the site. At the end of June I had gone through the entire site, making so many big and small changes I completely lost count of them myself.Oh, I made friends with my bosses again soon after that. :-) But my Canadian love affair only lasted for half a year or so. 9 time zones and 12+ hours airplane travels turned out to be far to big obstacles. :-(
March 4th 2001 - March 19th 2001Lots of minor changes in preparation for the new version of Musica Viva - usually a couple of updates a day.March 3rd 2001Fixed some problems with The Lute Archive and added two new pieces there.February 10th 2001Added a few new pieces to The Common Room and The Renaissance Workshop. Introduced The Lute Archive.January 15th 2001Some minor error corrections.January 12th 2001Added "'Tis the last rose of summer" to the classical guitar archive. Corrected a few minor errors.January 8th 2001Added "Go down Moses" to the choral music archive. Corrected a few minor errors.December 14th 2000Corrected a few minor errors.December 10th - December 13th 2000It turned out that some of the banner advertisements at Musica Viva caused problems for some versions of Internet Explorer. So I've spent four days going through every page replacing the offending codes with safe ones.In other words, I haven't had time to add very much new content, but at least I took the opportunity to clean up the place quite a lot. December 9th 200035 new pieces, most of them at the Renaissance work shop.Corrected a couple of errors. (Thanks to everybody who has e mailed me with error reports ;-)Updated the free sheet music search engine. More than 12 958 titles indexed. Today I'm breaking it. There are450 new titles today!!!But it's a special case. I've been working on transcribing Francis O'Neill's "Dance Music of Ireland" (simply known as "the book" among Irish trad. musicians) and now is the time to upload the first half of it. October 1st 2000 (2nd update)Started experimenting with the new navigation tools, using The midi archives as the test subject.October 1st 2000 (1st update)I'm working on a major rework of the entire site and didn't plan to add any new pieces before I got that finished. But the music keeps piling up.
