Introduction
The Lute Archive includes solo pieces for the renaissance lute and for the baroque lute. It also contains occasional pieces for other early string instruments such as the bandora, the colascione and the vihuela.The renaissance cittern has got it's own archive, The Cittern Archive.
Some of the renaissance pieces are here only as modern guitar transcriptions, while some of the baroque pieces are in the two-staff "keyboard notation" that was common at that time.

As big as Musica Viva is, you still can't find everything here. There's the problem with copyright on modern music for a start, and no web server on earth is big enough to store all music ever written. ;-)Besides, there is something about a properly published sheet music book that computer printouts simply never can have.
